Glass Chains: Patterns, Secrets, and ApplicationsSunday, January 25th from 12-4 pm
We are excited to welcome you to the first publicly accessible workshop by this artist of her signature techniques. You will be guided through the glass chain making process, starting with how to pull down raw materials into the optimum width to thickness ratio. She will also be divulging her secret “crochet hook” method she uses for glass chainmaille to make the process faster while still doing everything by hand.
We will go into practice weaving processes using metal “dummy” links, then advance into beginner glass chainmaille. After some time playing with glass chainmaille fidget toys, we will open class up to student requests for specific weaves.
$250 per person,
Prerequisites:

Bio:
Amanda Nardone is Massachusetts-based multimedia artist. Her larger sculptural work and her jewelry has been featured in museums like the National Liberty Museum and the Tacoma Museum of Glass. The bulk of her chain work was made under the pseudonym “chainsmoker” before her diagnosis of connective tissue disease at age 28. After a 3 year hiatus, chain production changed into smaller objects; mainly earrings and bracelets. She stills enjoys glass blowing, rock climbing, and being a personal trainer, but at a much slower pace.
