About this Event

Have a direct, positive impact from the burn to the Whitecart Water to the Clyde and then the sea.

We’re linking up with Keep Scotland Beautiful and their Upstream Battle campaign, which aims to prevent marine litter at source by working along rivers and their tributaries to gather evidence and inspire action. We’ll record what litter we find, analyse where it might have come from, and send the data back to Keep Scotland Beautiful.

About Glasgow Lost Rivers

The project will see river restoration, flood prevention and community benefit along the White Cart Catchment, starting with significant investment in the Capelrig Burn. We believe the potential of the rivers has been lost – for local communities and nature. Before work starts, we want local input to shape the plans, and we need to tackle litter entering the rivers and burns in the catchment.

Have your say

The Glasgow Lost Rivers team will be on hand throughout the event to share more about the project, get your views on draft and plans and learn more about what you’d like to see happen along the river.

In the afternoon we’ll take a guided walk along the river so we can learn more about how you use the area and what you’d like to see in the future. We’ll explain Glasgow Lost Rivers’ draft plans and get your views. We'd really appreciate your input.

We’ll have a gazebo to shelter under if it’s wet, and there will be free hot drinks and snacks throughout the day. Other community groups such as our friends at Love Cadoc Woods will be on hand with their local knowledge.

Stay with us for the full day, come for the litter pick, join us on the walk, or just drop by the gazebo to say hi and find out how you can get involved.

Please note this is a child-friendly event, but anyone under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The event is free, but registering helps us keep a track of numbers. We will not store or use your contact details for any other purpose.
