Give a Shuck: Hope and Half Shells is a chef-curated oyster roast and community gathering benefiting Shining Light in Darkness, a nonprofit supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Held in the peaceful countryside of Bahama, NC (20 minutes from Durham). This experience brings together food, art, conversation, and cause. Whether you come for the oysters, the culinary experiences, or the shared purpose, your presence supports someone on their journey toward safety, healing, and hope.

Fresh steamed oysters or shrimp from Ryan Bethea of Oysters Carolina.
“Shuck & Tell”, a storytelling table talk with Ryan about his journey as a celebrated oyster farmer and culture keeper.
Live cooking demos and tastings from Chef Darin Leonardson from from Texas, a nationally recognized culinary leader.
Tapas-style dishes at The Shucker’s Table, curated by Chef Stephen C. Baity from South Carolina - Food Network winner, Culinary Olympic medalist, and founder of Pop’s Secret Seasoning.
Live art by Rell, painting throughout the day with work available for purchase.
Entertainment, raffle prizes, and curated gifts for all guests.
Each ticket level offers a unique experience. Some include added touches like a reserved table, Chef Baity’s seasoning line, a custom apron, or a signature candle.
But no matter how you attend, your ticket supports life-changing programs for survivors in crisis.
