Give A Day to the City

Give a Day to the City is back — 29th June to 5th July 2026.
For one week, our city gets the chance to do something beautiful together. We love Carlisle, and we long to see it become the most generous place on earth. So we’re asking a simple question: what is in your hands?
Whatever it is — give it away for the benefit of someone else.
It could be on your own, or with a team from your workplace, school, church, neighbourhood or group of mates. It could be an hour, a day, or the whole week. You could donate blood, deliver meals, renovate a garden, host a party to celebrate local heroes, paint a community space, take gifts to our emergency services, throw open your front door for a coffee morning — or something nobody’s thought of yet.
Big ideas and small ones. Everyone can do something.
How to get involved:
💡 Got an idea? Gather a few people, dream up a project, and submit it via our website. We’ll walk it through with you — you don’t need to have it all figured out.
🤝 Want to join in? Closer to the week, we’ll be sharing all the projects looking for extra hands. Keep an eye on this page and pick something that sparks you.
📣 Just want to spread the word? Share this event, tag a friend, and start the conversation. The more people who know, the more our city can do.
