SPEND THE DAY WITH LOCAL BLACK-SERVING NONPROFITS AND HELP US TO EXCEED LAST YEAR’S TOTAL!
In 2025, Lexington contributed more than $230,000 to 40 Black-serving nonprofits. This year, we want to build on that momentum by bringing even more of the community into the giving experience!
Take the opportunity to connect directly with the organizations doing important work across Lexington!
Community Day will include:
- Performance from Lexington blues legend, Tee Dee Young
- Event host, Martina Barksdale
- Special performances by local nonprofit and community groups with high-energy entertainment throughout the evening!
- Local food vendors
- Hourly matching prizes and special giving opportunities.
- A nonprofit village where you have the opportunity to meet and connect with nonprofit leaders, learn more about their work, and how your giving supports their organizations, directly!
- Donation opportunities throughout the evening to help us exceed last year’s fundraising total.
We are also excited to welcome BackBlack as our Social Media Match Sponsor for the second year in a row.
BackBlack is a national movement that helps increase funding, visibility, connections, and support for Black-serving nonprofits. Their partnership helps us to expand the reach of Give 8/28 Lex, creating additional excitement online and encouraging people beyond the park to participate in the day of giving!
