On behalf of Women in Aviation International, Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter and the Girls in Aviation Day Committee, we would like to invite you to our fourth annual Northeastern Pennsylvania Girls in Aviation Day on Saturday, September 20, 2024 from 10:00am - 2:00pm at the Wyoming Valley Airport in Kingston, PA. All girls ages 6-13 are invited!

*If you would like your child to be in a particular group with a friend or family member, please be sure to select that when purchasing your ticket!

This will be the ninth annual international Girls in Aviation Day and our local chapter’s fourth event. The event is occurring all across the WAI network around the world. Every chapter is bringing the passion, exploration, learning, and excitement of aviation and aerospace to their event! The purpose of Girls in Aviation Day is to teach expose young girls about the possibilities within the world of aviation.

NEPA Girls in Aviation Day 2025 will consist of static aircraft displays, kids STEM activities, flight simulator, and more. The event will be focused on “fun” with the intention of opening the doors of the Wyoming Valley Airport to young girls across Northeastern Pennsylvania!

What to Expect:

Registration starts at 10:00 am and will be on the front lawn of Valley Aviation FBO located at 2001 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston. Please park and come through the gate and help your child check-in and receive her t-shirt and backpack!

We will need every parent or guardian to sign in their child at the registration table and sign the child out at the end of the event.

We will have photographers onsite taking both individual pictures of your child during the activities for the day. After the event, we will be uploading these photos to our Facebook Page (Women in Aviation Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter) for you to access and download as well as sharing our photographer link. If you don’t want your child to be photographed, please let us know directly.

Misbehavior: If your child misbehaves or is bullying another participant, she will be sent home and will not be refunded. We sure hope this will not be an issue! It is a great day and we wouldn’t want anyone to miss it.

Where to park: Upon your arrival to the Wyoming Valley Airport, please park in the lot near the main hangar.

What to wear: Please have your child wear comfortable shoes and shorts or pants. They will receive a t-shirt upon check-in to wear throughout the day. Please have them dress for the weather. A long sleeve t-shirt is ideal, so they can slip on the event t-shirt over their long sleeve! They will be outside for most of the day.

What to bring: Your child will receive a backpack upon check-in with everything they need for the day inside. Some things that might be helpful to pack are sunscreen, a hat, and any Medic*tion they may need throughout the day. Please, no cell phones unless necessary.

Pick up will be at 2:00 pm. Parents are invited to view the hanger prior to leaving as well as joining the end of day celebration at 2:00pm. Please remember to check out with your child in the same place you checked-in before you leave the property, so we have every child accounted for with their parent or guardian. The person picking the child up must have a Photo ID present and will be matched to the name given during check in registration.
