Girls in Aviation Day - North Location

GIRLS IN AVIATION DAY CONTINUES TO IMPACT YOUTH ATTENDEES! Women in Aviation International’s 12th Annual International Girls in Aviation Day will be celebrated around the world on September 19, 2026, sparking curiosity and wonder for the next generation of pioneers in the aviation and aerospace industry. This year, WAI chapters and corporate members shared their love of aviation at 200 total events in 34 countries and 64 international events at airports, FBOs, museums, and hangars throughout North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. More than 42,000 attendees were introduced to the career and lifestyle possibilities in aviation and aerospace through meeting female role models, career panels, and visits to airplanes and airports. Attendees explore hands-on fun and educational activities ranging from sectional chart scavenger hunts, to making a tailwheel airplane, and learning about aircraft engines and avionics with maintenance technicians. Girls in Aviation Day is part of a multi-faceted international youth program called Aviation for Girls, exclusively designed by WAI to inspire youngsters year-round to learn about STEM and career possibilities.
