Girl (Boy), Get Yourself Together!

As public relations professionals, we set goals and write plans for our organizations or clients. But have you done it for yourself? This presentation will share ways to set your personal and professional goals and work toward creating balance in key areas of your life. Patrice's Biography

Patrice Guilfoyle, APR, is the communications director for the University of Mississippi Medical Center, the state’s only academic health sciences center. She oversees internal communications, media relations, alumni magazines and brand journalism.

She earned the B.A. in Journalism at the University of Memphis and the M.S. in Public Relations/Corporate Communication at Mississippi College. She also earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential in 2012. She is the 2025 APR chair for PRSA Memphis chapter, past president of PRAM state and PRAM Central and 2025 president of the Southern Public Relations Federation.

She currently serves as vice chair of communications, marketing and public affairs for the Group on Institutional Advancement of the Association of American Medical Colleges, which represents 145 accredited U.S. medical schools and approximately 400 major teaching hospitals.

A former journalist, Guilfoyle worked at The News-Star in Monroe, La., and The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss. She has over 20 years of experience in public relations. Prior to her recent role at UMMC, she served as communications director for the Mississippi Department of Education.
