About this Event
April 14, 6-8:30 p.m.
In this first of two classes on consecutive Tuesdays, students will build a wire armature for a giraffe and cover it with a papier mache “skin.” This sculptural base will dry for a week before being painted at the next session. The final product will be about 12-14 inches tall.
April 21, 6-8:30 p.m.
Students who built the wire and papier mache base for their giraffe sculpture on April 14 will apply a decorative pattern to the surface with acrylic paint and a protective coating. Realistic or whimsical, participants’ giraffes will have their own unique personality. Lots of fun and creativity! Samples of different surface treatments will be provided, but anything goes!
