About this Event
April 16, 6-8:30 p.m.
In the first session of this two-part course, students will build a framework for a whimsical hippopotamus with a variety of materials such as wire, cardboard and papier mache. With a week between the first and second sessions, your hippo should be dry for painting April 23. The finished product will be about 10 inches long.
April 23, 6-8:30 p.m.
Finish the hippo framework you completed at last week’s session with acrylic paint and other materials. Decorate him realistically or with a whimsical pattern to show off your hippo’s personality! Students will also have the option to turn their hollow hippo into a bank by cutting a deposit slot and a “withdrawal” hole that can be plugged with a Styrofoam “cork.”
