GIObabies

Opportunity for the very youngest musicians (0-5 years) to explore the magic and fun of creating and sharing music with other people.
About this Event

GIObabies is Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra’s creative music workshop for children aged 0–5 and their grown-ups, led by GIO bassist, researcher and music educator Una MacGlone.

Running since 2008, GIObabies begins from a simple idea: young children are natural improvisers. Through playful exploration of instruments, voices, movement and sound, children and adults are invited to listen, experiment and make music together, with everyone contributing as an equal part of the ensemble.

Developed by Una MacGlone through more than fifteen years of work in early-years improvisation and creative music education, GIObabies has been presented across Scotland and as part of GIOFest, alongside collaborations with international organisations.
