About this Event
Explore a range of decorative and historically rich traditions in leatherwork. This specialist workshop introduces participants to both gilt leather, a technique with ancient origins in Ghadames, Libya, and the broader art of leather gilding, encompassing a range of gilding techniques applied to leather surfaces.
Through hands-on practice with gilding materials, tools, and processes, you will work across various traditions, developing an understanding of their distinct histories, methods, and materials. Whether you are drawn by the history, the craft, or simply the beauty of the results, this is a rare opportunity to engage with techniques that sit at the intersection of fine art and material heritage.
No prior experience required. All materials provided.
