Welcome to the final fortnightly Autumn night/evening social walk.Depending on interest & participation, we may organise more social walks through the winter months. TBC whether they go ahead and whether they're day, evening, or night walks.
For this walk, we'll meet on Mann Street, just down from the Coolamon Post Office at 7.30PM.
Kids are welcome - we've selected a Friday evening to encourage young ones to get involved if they're interested.
Bring your torch and binoculars, we hope to see you there!
What we're listening/looking for:
We'll take a self guided walk along the Gilgai Trail, looking and listening out for nocturnal birds and mammals, as well as frogs and other water-life around the drainage lines.
Duration:
As it's self-guided, you can walk for as long or as little as you like.
We anticipate to be at the wetlands for at least half an hour, up to about two hours.
Difficulty & Accessibility notes:
The main cohort is likely to loosely follow the main track towards Ganmain, likely turning around at about Iverach St.
There is uneven ground & trip hazards.
Recommended gear:
Torch (red light if you've got one)
Binoculars
Camera
Water
Snacks
Insect repellent
Personal first aid kit if you've got one
Recommended clothing:
Long pants
Gum Boots/comfortable closed in walking shoes
Warm/rain gear depending on the weather
