Gilbert O'Sullivan, one of the UK's most enduring and respected singer-songwriters, comes to The London Palladium for a special concert celebrating 60 years of music.
Since his breakthrough in 1970 with Nothing Rhymed, Gilbert has achieved 16 Top 40 records, including six No. 1 songs, and timeless classics such as Clair, Get Down and Alone Again (Naturally) – the latter topping the US charts for six weeks and earning him three Grammy nominations. Across his career he has released 20 studio albums and received three Ivor Novello Awards, including Songwriter of the Year in 1973. His last three album releases have also achieved Top 10, Top 20 and Top 30 positions in the UK album charts.

📍 Venue Description: The London Palladium is a legendary West End venue and a jewel in the crown of British theatre. Known for its grand facade and spectacular productions, the Palladium has welcomed iconic stars from Judy Garland to Elton John. From the roster of stars who have played here and many televised performances, it is arguably the most famous theatre in London and the United Kingdom, especially for musical variety shows. 
### **The history of The London Palladium**
The grade II listed building dates back to 1910, although the façade dates back to the 19th century. The London Palladium was originally a temporary wooden building called Corinthian Bazaar, which featured an aviary and aimed to attract customers from the recently closed Pantheon Bazaar on Oxford Street. The theatre was rebuilt a year later by Fredrick Hengler, the son of a tightrope walker, as a circus venue that included an aquatic display in a flooded ring. Next it became the National Skating Palace - a skating rink with real ice. However the rink failed and The London Palladium was redesigned by Frank Matcham, a famous theatrical architect who also designed the London Coliseum.
The theatre began life as a premiere venue for variety performances, and is still linked to the Royal Variety Performances - with ITV broadcasting the live show each year. It is also known for its world class pantomimes, which regularly star Julian Clary and Nigel Hargreaves.
