Still only nineteen, Nora Brown has already become one of the brightest young stars in old-time music. What began as childhood ukulele lessons in Brooklyn soon grew into a lifelong love of Appalachian traditions, and today her banjo playing and soulful voice have carried her to stages across the US, Europe, and Japan, from Newport Folk Festival to NPR’s Tiny Desk.For this special evening, she is joined by award-winning fiddler Stephanie Coleman. The pair first met in Brooklyn’s close-knit old-time community and have since developed a rich, joyful partnership that bridges generations.
