What follows is an hour of forgery, greed and very bad behaviour, with

"O mio babbino caro", one of the most beautiful arias ever written, landing

in the middle of it.

GIANNI SCHICCHI is Giacomo Puccini's only comedy, staged in a contemporary

production by the Department of Western Music, CHRIST (Deemed to be

University), and sung in English.

Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2026, 5:00 PM. One hour, no interval —

an ideal first opera: short, funny, in a language you already speak, and

finished by seven in the evening.
