About this Event
You are cordially invited to our very first spooky, Halloween-themed meet and greet of the fall 2024 semester for the American University Student Consortium on Women, Peace and Security.
We’re coming together to celebrate on the evening of a landmark United Nations (UN) Resolution on Women, Peace and Security, when the UN Security Council adopted resolution (S/RES/1325) on women and peace and security on October 31st, 2000.
Resolution 1325 reaffirms the important role of women in the prevention and resolution of conflicts, peace negotiations, peace-building, peacekeeping, humanitarian response and in post-conflict reconstruction and stresses the importance of their equal participation and full involvement in all efforts for the maintenance and promotion of peace and security.
So join us on this historic evening to connect with students involved in WPS, meet with professors who have worked in the field, and enjoy an evening filled with enchanting conversations!
Whether you're a student, faculty member, or simply passionate about Women, Peace, and Security, this event is a perfect potion for you. Light refreshments will be provided. Don’t miss the chance to mingle with both student and professors who are passionate about Women, Peace & Security!
