Walworth Run was once a picturesque spring-fed brook that gently flowed into the Cuyahoga River. However, the rise of industry and the dumping of waste directly into the stream in the late 19th century led its demise. By 1908 the entire stream course had been converted to an underground sewer. Yet, portions of the ravine carved by the stream over thousands of years remain, hidden within the urban fabric of the city. A naturalist will lead you to a few spots where you can gaze at the ghost ravine of Walworth Run while admiring its renewal as an urban greenspace.
