GHOST IN THE MACHINE Screening
About this Event
Ghost in the Machine, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, is a documentary that explores the origins and current status of AI and the ways it has been shaped by and is currently shaping power dynamics on a global scale. The film “rejects the idea that artificial intelligence is objective or inevitable […and] traces how modern tech builds upon old systems of control, […arguing] that current AI models reflect historical biases, corporate interests, and colonial mindsets.”
The Mississippi Film Society, in partnership with the Mississippi Humanities Council, is pleased to invite you to a special free screening of Ghost in the Machine on Tuesday night, September 8 at 6:30 pm at the Capri Theatre. This is the first screening in their new series, Reel Intelligence. The screening will be followed by a panel conversation and Q&A with the following guests:
