Thwaite Mills Museum is a Grade II listed industrial mill complex located by the River Aire and close to the Stourton Stone Circle. Built between 1823 and 1825, with an even earlier mill constructed on the site back in 1641. Many ghost sightings and paranormal activity have been reported here by staff and visitors, such as full-bodied apparitions of mill workers, shadow figures in the upper windows, poltergeist activity, light anomalies, unexplained machinery noises, footsteps, voices and other strange sounds.
