Venture into the depths of the Town Hall's cellar, where three original prison cells remain—a stark reminder of its time as the town's court. Imagine the prisoners who once languished within these cold, stone walls. Some say their tormented souls remain, forever trapped within these confines.
The most unsettling story revolves around the tragic fate of the 1950s caretaker. While winding the clock in the Corn Exchange, he suffered a fatal fall down the stairs. His wife discovered his body. Many believe his spirit still wanders the halls, eternally bound to the building he so diligently cared for.
