About this Event

Join Heritage Ambassador Fatin Jarara for Ghanani: A Multi-Generational Music Workshop, an interactive program celebrating the rich tradition of Palestinian folkloric singing circles.

Ghanani is a community arts project that honors the cultural legacy of Palestinian women and their longstanding tradition of singing together in community. As this cherished practice faces the challenges of cultural erasure and the passage of generations, the project works to preserve these songs and the stories they carry.

Participants will learn traditional songs in Arabic while exploring themes of love, faith, community, and homeland. Lyric sheets with English translations and transliterations will be provided, making the workshop accessible to participants of all backgrounds. Attendees will also have the opportunity to accompany the songs with light percussion instruments.

This welcoming, all-ages program invites community members to connect through music, culture, and shared learning. No prior musical experience is required.
