Leith CRAIC will be opening up Sketchy Beats (208 Great Junction St, EH6 5LW) EVERY SATURDAY from 10am - 6pm & until 11pm the last Saturday of the month! 🦋 We will host events, workshops & meetups to combat social isolation and to strengthen our community's mental & emotional wellbeing. July 4th is our first official pop-up opening day, so come say hello if you're in the neighbourhood!
TIMETABLE FOR THE DAY:
🗣️ (10am - 2pm) Social Space : Casual and inclusive environment to socialise, play board games (games box available or bring your own), utilise scanning or low-cost printing services, or just come hang out. Bring a friend or make a new one!
🎨 (2pm - 4pm) Burnout Arts n' Crafts Club: Low-pressure, supportive environment to join creative sessions led by self-taught artists, collaborate with others or work on your own project. Free to join, supplies provided for group projects. No experience or reservation required - just show up!
🎮 (4pm - 6pm) Games Club: Meet fellow gamers to play in a fun and inclusive setting. Selection of multiplayer video games and consoles will be available for use.
🎸 (7pm - 12:30am) SAVE OUR SPACES: Prosfygika Fundraiser Gig. Join our after party at Leith Depot (138-142 Leith Walk, EH6 5DT) to support DIY punk & rave DJs. Grab some advance tickets here (or available on the door): https://ra.co/events/2449616

Access: Sketchy Beats Cafe is a not-for-profit arts cafe and event space in Leith, Edinburgh. It is located at 208 Great Junction St, EH6 5LW, and there is a well-connected bus stop (7,10,14,21) just outside the front door. The space offers a variety of services, including live music, performances, and workshops. and it is wheelchair-accessible. Amenities such as Wi-Fi, a gender-neutral restroom, and a selection of coffee & tea are all available. The atmosphere is casual and cosy, attracting a diverse crowd including locals, students, tourists, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Safer Spaces: We actively engage with the local community to collaborate on events which centre and benefit marginalised groups by providing a space where they can feel safe and emboldened to be themselves without fear.
