About this Event
As Winter turns to Spring, Ireland has traditionally celebrated the Feast of St. Brigid. Pre-Christianity, the Celts venerated the Goddess Brigid at the Festival of Imbolc.
Today, Ireland celebrates the creativity of Irish women reflecting the legacy of the Christian saint and Celtic deity.
On 26 January, a few days ahead of the feast day, the Consulate will host a celebration of Song and Dance with performances by some incredibly talented women.
A traditional Irish dance party (céilí) will follow where everyone will have an opportunity to learn a few steps and join in the fun. This is a family friendly occasion where Irish culture lovers (and the culturally curious) along with fun lovers of all ages are encouraged to come along.
This event is being hosted in partnership with the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and the South Florida Emerald Society.
