On July 2, 1863, as the Confederate assaults and breakthrough of the Union Third Corps line rolled eastward, it seemed as if the day was lost for the Union cause. The stand that was made by Lieut. Colonel Freeman McGilvery’s reserve artillery line would help ensure that was not the case. Join us as we explore the vital, yet underrated portion of the defense of Cemetery Ridge on July 2, 1863.
