With substantial prize money on offer and a strong focus on both elite amateur competition and grassroots development, this year’s tournament is shaping up to be one of the most prestigious football events on the regional calendar.
Competition in the Senior Category is expected to be intense, with a massive R80,000 prize awaiting the champions. The runners-up will walk away with R30,000, underlining the tournament’s status as a serious battleground for top amateur sides across the province.
Teams wishing to participate in the senior division are required to pay an affiliation fee of R3,000.
Investing in the Future: Junior Category
Staying true to its developmental mandate, the Gert Schalkwyk Foundation will also host a Junior Category featuring U/13, U/15, and U/17 teams. Young footballers will compete for a R10,000 first prize, while runners-up will receive R4,000.
The junior affiliation fee has been set at a subsidised R750, ensuring accessibility for local academies and school teams.
