George Gershwin helped define the sound of American music in the early 20th century, blending jazz, classical music, Broadway, and popular song into a style entirely his own. His catalog includes enduring works such as “Rhapsody in Blue,” “Summertime,” “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “The Man I Love,” and “I Got Rhythm,” along with countless standards written with his brother, lyricist Ira Gershwin.
Backed by a live band, Tod Macofsky will celebrate the sophistication, swing, and unforgettable melodies of the Gershwin songbook in a concert designed to transport audiences to the golden age of American music.
