Learn how heirlooms, genealogy, translation and history come together to tell your family story. The presenter will also give insight into the unique challenges of deciphering and understanding German documents and preserving heirlooms. This program is a continuation of the 2024 “Germans to America” program and will cover different material than the previous workshop. It is not necessary to have attended the first workshop to attend this one. The event will include a presentation by Pam beginning at 10:30 am, followed by a "show and tell" sharing of objects and documents from the audience. Attendees are then invited to lunch on the grounds of the Zelienople Historical Society followed by tours of the Passavant House and Buhl House. The tours will conclude at approximately 2:30 pm. A donation of $5 toward the speaker fee or $10 for the program and lunch will be appreciated. To make your reservation please call the Library at 724/425-9330 or email [email protected]. When registering please indicate if you plan to attend the talk, lunch and tours or only a portion of the event. Register by September 19. The Library and the Historical Society are partnering for this event, which is part of the Zelienople Historical Society's 50th Anniversary Celebration.
