This is the story of the German air service on the Western Front during the First World War, seen through the prism of serving pilots stories.
Our speaker this month is Dr Graham Kemp. An experienced teacher, tour guide and museum manager, Graham is a well-respected military historian who has clocked up more than 40 years of research and knowledge. His doctorate was on: 'Peace and International Relations'.
Graham says: “I like to put into my talks, the humanity of those who fell, their stories, experiences and feelings alongside the overall picture of the topic. I draw from many autobiographic accounts to build up the human picture, and show what it was like to have been there.”
Members and non-members are equally welcome. Anyone new to our group is guaranteed a friendly atmosphere, and a warm welcome over a cuppa. Parking is free, but we ask visitors for a small donation of £4 to cover room hire and speakers’ expenses.
