About this Event
Join us for Georgia Overdose Prevention: Recovery Residence Edition, a training focused on saving lives through overdose education and naloxone awareness in recovery housing settings.
This training is designed for recovery residence staff, house managers, peer leaders, community partners, and others who support individuals in recovery. Participants will learn the basics of overdose prevention, how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, and how naloxone can be used to respond quickly in an emergency.
Recovery residences play a critical role in providing safe, supportive environments for individuals rebuilding their lives. Being prepared with overdose prevention knowledge and response tools is an important part of creating a recovery-focused community of care.
During this training, participants will:
- learn how to identify the signs of an overdose
- understand how naloxone works
- receive guidance on when and how to administer naloxone
- discuss the importance of overdose response planning in recovery residence settings
- strengthen confidence in responding to an overdose emergency
This training is an opportunity to equip recovery residence communities with practical tools, life-saving knowledge, and a stronger commitment to safety and support.
Together, we can build safer recovery environments and help prevent overdose deaths across Georgia.
