The Raid on Zebrugge was a WW1 raid carried out by the 4th Bttn Royal Marines against the Germans. It was famously fought on St George’s Day (23rd April), there were several VC’s awarded for gallant conduct during the event - 2 to the RM’s. This was the first talk delivered in the Foundry and like then, if you are not wearing a Regimental/Corps tie on the night (when you are known to be a former serviceman) you will be fined - for charityCharity event includes food and toasts.
