You'll also explore the power of point of view, master dialogue writing and formatting, and refine your narrative voice. This will be an in-depth dive into creating complex fictional characters, including:

• How to create a compelling backstory for your character
• Characterisation and how to use it effectively
• Internal and external character goals
• Point of view: how to use it appropriately for your chosen genre and audience
• Writing convincing dialogue and formatting it correctly
• Narrative voice and how to discover and refine yours.

About the Facilitator:

Aylish Dowsett is an award-winning writer, tutor, and copywriter. She teaches creative writing at The Writers’ Studio, The Writing Quarter, Creative Writing Ink, and St George and Sutherland Community College. Her work has been published in Mythrill Fiction, Collider, Honi Soit, Grapeshot, The Quarry, and many others. She loves cats and all things weird and British.
