As part of the American Experience Traveling Exhibit’s first-ever visit to Pinellas County, visitors will have the rare opportunity to see a full‑scale replica of General George Washington’s field tent—the very style of shelter he used while commanding the Continental Army during the American Revolution.
Often called the “First Oval Office,” Washington’s tent served as his mobile headquarters, a place where he strategized, wrote correspondence, and led the fight for American independence. This immersive replica brings that world to life, offering guests a powerful glimpse into the daily realities of Revolutionary War leadership.
✨ What You’ll Experience:
• A detailed replica of Washington’s wartime headquarters
• Insight into how the Commander‑in‑Chief lived and worked in the field
• Connections to the broader stories featured in the American Experience Exhibit
• A unique, hands‑on way to explore early American history right here in Clearwater
