This fishing derby commemorates the memory of George Modock Jr., an avid fisherman and family man who enjoyed sharing this hobby with his children. His family keeps his legacy alive by hosting this event with the City as a way to bring North Royalton families together to create lasting memories. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Park lake. Kids will fish from 10 a.m. to noon, competing in three age groups -- 7-9, 10-12, and 13-15. Trophies are provided by the family. Lang's Butcher Block and Deli is providing hot dogs, Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz is serving up popcorn and the Modock Family will provide cookies from noon to 1 p.m.
