About this Event

George Gilder is an economist, investor, and co-founder of the Discovery Institute, where he directs the Technology and Democracy Project. After studying under Henry Kissinger at Harvard, he served as a speechwriter to Nelson Rockerfeller and Richard Nixon. Becoming a leading authority on supply-side economics, he was the living author most often quoted by Ronald Reagan during the latter's Presidency. His many books include: Wealth and Poverty, The Spirit of Enterprise, Knowledge and Power, and Life After Google. He remains a frequent contributor to The Economist and The Wall Street Journal (amongst other publications).

Lord Matthew Ridley is one of the world's foremost science writers. Educated at Oxford and formerly science editor at The Economist, his many books - including The Origins of Virtue, The Rational Optimist, and How Innovation Works - have sold more than two million copies in thirty-one languages. A member of the House of Lords from 2013 to 2021, he won the Hayek Prize in 2011 and the Julian Simon Award the following year.
