Geophysical Institute free summer tours 2026
Bring your family and friends to learn about world-class Arctic research, at Alaska's largest research institute. Chat with UAF graduate students, and ask questions about satellites, earthquakes nuclear monitoring, rocket launching, satellites, and what sort of data our iconic blue antenna collects.
Typical stops on the 90-min tour include the Alaska Earthquake Center, the Wilson Alaska Technical Center, the Alaska Satellite Facility, and our model rocket outside to learn about Poker Flat Research Range.

No tour registration is required, but please call 907-474-5229 in advance if bringing a large group. Tours are best for ages 12 and older.Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
