Geometric Collage: Shaping Your Way to Dynamic Composition
About this Event
Geometric Collage: Shaping Your Way to Dynamic Composition
Learn how to build a more dynamic collage using geometric shapes! In this two-hour workshop, you'll focus on building a mosaic-like collage made entirely of polygons (triangles, rectangles, hexagons, etc) as a way to add dimension to your work. Experiment with different shapes, complex color schemes, and balancing a composition as you go. Your finished piece may simply be your mosaic, or you may choose to use your mosaic as a background and add some magazine cutouts on top. It's entirely up to you as the artist!
Once given the proper tools, this workshop will be more like a choose-your-own adventure. You, as the artist, get to decide how to implement the tools you've been given. You'll be encouraged and empowered to trust your own vision while assembling your own 8x10 collage, and extras will be on hand if you finish early. Imperfections are welcomed and encouraged, thus this workshop is open to all skill levels.
