Geologist's Walk Around Redwood Heights/Leona Heights

A 3-1/2 mile tour of Oakland's historic mining district, natural streams, and signs of the Hayward Fault's ongoing activity.
About this Event

This vigorous walk will visit the rocks and landscape around Lincoln Square, Lion Creek, a former mine, an abandoned quarry, an active fault trace, good views and some charming neighborhoods in their Halloween best. Stairs, steps and some dirt roads.

Park on the street near the meeting place, or come via the 54 bus line (eastbound; arrives ~1:15 pm).
