Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Geoff Tate is best known as the longtime voice and creative force behind the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. During his 30-plus years with the band, they sold over 20 million albums worldwide and performed in more than 50 countries, earning a reputation as one of the most influential and musically sophisticated acts in rock.
Queensrÿche achieved early success with a string of gold-certified releases before reaching global acclaim with their landmark 1988 concept album Operation: Mindcrime, often compared to Tommy and The Wall. Their follow-up album Empire sold over three million copies and featured the hit single “Silent Lucidity,” which earned a Grammy nomination and became the band’s first Top 10 hit.
Throughout the years, Tate and Queensrÿche continued to push creative boundaries with ambitious concept albums, theatrical tours, and releases like Operation: Mindcrime II and American Soldier. After departing the band, Tate launched new projects under the name Operation: Mindcrime, releasing a trilogy of concept albums between 2015 and 2017.
Today, Geoff Tate continues to tour internationally, celebrating the legacy of Operation: Mindcrime and performing for audiences around the world, solidifying his place as one of rock’s most distinctive and respected vocalists.
