About the Trainer

Marion is a genetic counsellor, researcher and former programme director of the Cardiff University MSc in Genetic and Genomic Counselling, a mainly E-learning genetic counsellor training programme. Marion’s research focuses on patient empowerment and aims to improve how clinical genetics services respond to patient needs. Marion is well-known in her field because she developed and validated a new Patient Reported Outcome Measure (Genetic Counselling Outcome Scale GCOS-24), which has since been translated into Danish, Dutch, Spanish, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Greek and Korean. Marion is passionate about supporting families affected by genetic conditions to adapt to the challenges they face.
