Anderson commanded the 14th Infantry at Vancouver Barracks from 1886–1898. As one of the post’s longest-serving commanders, Anderson—and his family—became deeply involved in both military and local community life.
Presenter Jeff Davis (Major, U.S. Army, Ret.) will explore Anderson’s leadership within the broader history of Vancouver Barracks. Davis, an archaeologist and longtime member of the Vancouver Barracks Military Association, is a Vancouver native whose Army service took him around the world—and back to Vancouver Barracks. He has authored and contributed to numerous publications on military and Northwest history and is a frequent speaker and tour guide.
