What defines the recent wave of Gen Z protests across the world? What motivates young people to mobilise, and how do these movements differ from earlier generations of youth-led protest?This panel discussion explores youth-driven protest movements in Nepal, Madagascar and Kenya, examining their causes, political significance and use of social media to mobilise.
While these protests are often grouped under a shared “Gen Z” label, the panel will critically assess whether this overarching narrative obscures important national, social and political differences.
