Gelli Jam & Collage WEEKEND WORKSHOP

Join us for this fun weekend workshop! Colorful, whimsical, multi-layered, imperfect & fun, just like Michelle!

This beginner-friendly workshop invites you to show up with your curiosity, love of color and open-ness to try something new. Michelle will guide you - during Part I on Saturday in the art of creating gelli printed papers- as you build up your own unique stash of prints, which will be the main ingredient you will use to create your collage during Part II on Sunday.

On Sunday, after your prints have dried completely, you’ll have your own stack of playful & colorful gelli printed papers, waiting to be transformed into a unqiue collage. Michelle will bring examples to show you - from her own work- so that you can start to visualize how papers can be juxtaposed, cut, torn and layered to build up a fun & vibrant mixed media collage on wood panel.

Experimentation, play and imperfection are all highly encouraged -as you figure out how the gel prints work, and what your collage-creation is becoming. You will have several sample backgrounds to practice upon, before moving on to your 10 × 10 wood panel.

Finally, you will embellish your creation with the “gingerbread”, as Michelle calls it, with posca pens, gold Kuretake pens, and some acrylic paint accents for the final touches.
