GEILE STRECKE Weekender by FOCUS Bikes, Fernwee and Ride Out
About this Event
September 26–27, 2026 | Nijmegen → Maastricht | ~250 km
Two days. One route. One hell of a gravel adventure.
Join FOCUS Bikes, Fernwee and Ride Out Amsterdam for the Geile Strecke Weekender: two days and roughly 225 kilometres of gravel from Nijmegen all the way down to Maastricht. The route is heavily inspired by Leandra's Geile Strecke/Limburg Divide route.
Starting in Nijmegen, we head south through forests, gravel tracks, quiet roads and some of the best riding the Netherlands has to offer. We spend the night near Venlo before continuing south towards the hills of Limburg and our final destination: Maastricht.
Two days on the bike, a small group of riders and everything taken care of along the way.
The Experience
This isn’t a race. It’s a proper point-to-point gravel adventure built around riding, discovery and good company.
You’ll ride with a small group of like-minded riders, supported by the Ride Out crew, with FOCUS Bikes providing a fleet of gravel bikes for the weekend and Fernwee joining us to capture the journey along the way.
Expect long days on the bike, plenty of gravel, good coffee, proper food and a few surprises in between.
Stay & Refuel
After the first day, we’ll finish at Bilderberg Hotel De Bovenste Molen in Venlo.
Time to shower, grab a drink, have dinner together and recharge for day two. The next morning, after breakfast, we get back on the bikes and continue south towards Maastricht.
Lunch, dinner, breakfast, coffee and on-route fuel are all part of the weekend. You just have to ride.
Ride Your Own or Test a FOCUS Bike
Bring your own gravel bike or choose one of the limited FOCUS test bikes available exclusively for the Weekender.
This isn’t a quick test ride around the block. You’ll get the chance to properly experience the bike over two full days and around 225 kilometres of mixed terrain.
Test bikes are limited and can be selected during registration.
The Route
The Geile Strecke Weekender is heavily inspired by the original Geile Strecke, created by Leandra (@happiestcycling). We’ve adapted her route to fit our two-day format, overnight stay and finish in Maastricht.
- Day 1: Nijmegen → Venlo (+100 km)
- Day 2: Venlo → Maastricht (±125 km)
Expect a mix of fast gravel, forest tracks, quiet backroads and rolling terrain, with the landscape changing as we make our way south.
And because no ride to Maastricht should finish flat, we’ll save some of the hills of South Limburg for the finale.
