Geekbounding: Cosplay and Cocktails

Dig into your closet and put together an outfit inspired by your favourite character. Other options are to come in a cosplay where a character is dressed fancy, or just dress in some nice duds. If you don't have time for an outfit change, you're welcome to attend wearing whatever you wore to the con that day!

This event is inspired by Disneybounding, which involves outfits that are inspired by characters, but not explicitly cosplay. That means taking the colour scheme and iconography of characters and creating an outfit. It's a great way to dip your toe into cosplay, or to pull something together from your existing wardrobe. We're calling it Geekbounding, because you are by no means limited to Disney characters.

Your ticket includes snacks and a photo booth by Conrad the Designer! It also includes cover to Pacifico for the live jazz band that takes the stage at 9 PM!

We have the entire venue to ourselves until 8:30. After that, we have the mezzanine reserved for the whole evening with our own bar and view of the band!

As the first half of the event takes place on the main floor, the venue is accessible this year! See below for more accessibility information.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

There are two ways to enter this building:

1. There are 6 concrete steps and no railing up to the front door. There will be staff at the front door to assist with access to the building.
2. There is a secondary accessible entrance that provides access to the building via an elevator. Information about how to access this entrance will be posted soon.

Once inside, you will continue straight past the set of double doors to enter the venue. The main floor of Pacifico is spacious and maneuverable with a mobility aid. The bar is a high-top bar, and there will be servers throughout the main floor taking orders. Most of the seating is sideless, and a combination of heights, and bar-style chairs. There are also standard-height bar stools.

The bathrooms are on the lower floor and can be accessed via stairs or elevator. They are standard stalled restrooms, with one accessible stall. Bathroom and accessible stall measurements to come

We have a private area in the mezzanine, unfortunately not accessible by elevator (and has no movable furniture to ensure mobility aid access.) There are approximately 20 stairs, with a railing on one side. The stairs are relatively narrow and have a textured/grippy floor. We will have some high-top and lower tables reserved on the main floor when the doors open with priority given to folks who cannot access the mezzanine.

From 7:00-9:00, there will be music playing in the background at a level that allows conversation without yelling. At 9:00 the band will start.

Please note that the venue and the washroom are accessed via an elevator that may not fit a motorized chair. The dimensions of the elevator are 32 x 42 inches, and to use it, you have to be able to turn the chair within that space.
