Right now, a growing number of our neighbors in Houston and surrounding areas are facing severe financial strain as the new school year approaches. On August 1, 2026, Fervent Charity will host a community event at Eldridge Park in Sugarland, Tx. to distribute essential resources directly to local families in need. We are seeking partners and donors to help us equip students and their families for academic and personal success.
Core Needs and Collection Goals
To ensure every child starts the year with dignity and confidence, as well as to ensure the success of this event, we are collecting donations across four critical categories:
School Supplies: Backpacks, notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, calculators, crayons, etc. Not limited to age. Grades 1-12.
School clothing: New uniforms, shoes, socks, undergarments, and light jackets.
Groceries & Nutrients: Non-perishable pantry staples. Healthy snacks, canned goods, and gift cards to support family nutrition.
Sponsorship: Your sponsorship will provide the essential funding needed to launch this event, directly allowing us to gather and issue these vital resources. Every dollar raised goes straight to supporting our mission.
Key Dates and Logistics
Duration/Deadline for Donations: July 1st through July 25, 2026 (If you wish to donate after this date, arrangements can be made. However, please allow physical donations time for sorting and packing if possible)
The Distribution Event: August 1, 2026- “Gear Up for Growth” at Eldridge Park, Sugarland, TX. 4 pm. Providing supplies, food, and encouragement to families

As the Houston and surrounding areas continue to experience rapid growth, the community’s needs are expanding just as quickly. Fervent Charity is establishing its roots here because this growth demands a stronger, more resilient network of support.
While the August 1st event is a vital kickoff for the school year, this cannot be a one-time effort.
A Holistic Approach to Community Care
At Fervent Charity, we recognize that true restoration goes deeper than material resources. Our mission is not simply about meeting the physical needs of the community, but nurturing the spiritual and mental needs as well. Hardship impacts the whole person- mind, body, and soul. By providing compassionate, wrap-around support, we aim to build a community that is not only physically sustaining, but spiritually anchored and mentally resilient.
Our Promise to Houston and Surrounding Areas
Fervent Charity is here to bridge the gap-not just in August, but year-round and on an annual basis. Our commitment to Houston and surrounding area communities is built for the long haul:
Continuous Nutrition Support: We are establishing programs to supply food, snacks, and grocery essentials to students and families throughout the entire school year to combat the loss of free-lunch programs.
Comprehensive Crisis Assistance: We look at the whole family unit. Our efforts are entirely inclusive of all community struggles- whether that means providing aid to families experiencing homelessness, assisting low-income households, or offering a lifeline with utility assistance and emergency bills.
Sustain Community Presence: We aim to meet any practical need that a struggling family in Houston and surrounding areas could face, adapting and expanding our service for as long as possible, and creating a global effect.
Looking beyond August 1st
We are asking our donors and partners to view this drive not as a single checklist item, but as the foundation of a lasting partnership. Fervent Charity aims to be the definitive, go-to resource that stands in the gap for Houston and surrounding areas vulnerable populations.
