About the Gaza Biennale

Since April 2024, artists from Gaza began to gather together under a single project, to find ways to utilize art to resist this genocide. Many artists in Gaza have been working throughout this war, defying all challenges, creating works that remind us that art is essential to life and our survival as a species. A collective project has emerged into a global art event, the Gaza Biennale. In T'karonto, the 2025 Gaza Biennale is presented by A Space Gallery and Gallery TPW. Learn more

About the Book

In Palestine and Feminist Liberation, Palestinian scholar-activist Nada Elia argues that Palestinian women, far from being powerless and submissive, have long played an important role in resisting their people’s dispossession, first by the British Mandate, then by Israel. Elia discusses the challenges diaspora Palestinian feminists face when organizing on Turtle Island, where the dominant discourse has long upheld the Zionist narrative, steeped in Orientalism and anti-Palestinian racism. She articulates a vision for liberation grounded in Indigenous feminism, with its focus on collective empowerment, rather than individual advancement. Learn more

About the Organizers

A Space Gallery is committed to critical engagement; central to the gallery’s artistic direction is an exploration of the ways that art can contribute to social justice and to greater awareness of cultural similarities, differences and specificities.

Between the Lines is a social movement press founded in 1977, publishing nonfiction books that expose and challenge oppression in our society.

The No Arms In The Arts campaign is led by a coalition of groups- including Artists Against Artwashing, Canlit Responds, Writers Against The War On Gaza - Toronto, Film Workers For Palestine, Mapping Power, and Musicians Against Artwashing - that reject arts funding tied to the ongoing displacement and death of Palestinians.

Voices Can’t Bombed is a poetry fundraiser organized by English Graduate Students at the University of Toronto. It was inspired by Yahya Al Harmana’s first poetry collection, My Voice Cannot Be Bombed (Iskra Books 2025). The monthly series aims to showcase and raise funds for writers in Gaza.

WAWOG-TO is the Toronto Chapter of the Writers Against The War on Gaza.
