Welcome to the Gathering Leaves Poetry Sharing!
Come join us at 一頁舟 Gathering Leaves Hong Kong for an unforgettable poetry on migration, cultural, spiritual journeys from some talented Hong Kong writers, including Tammy Ho, Eric Yip, Michael Tsang, Irisa Kwok. From narratives on family history. Hong Kong culture to the familiarity of Cantonese, be ready to feel transported by their work and make meaningful connections to with this writing community.
Book signings after the reading and Q&A (bilingual Q&A session). Light refreshments and drinks will also be served.
Bios of featured poets
Tammy Lai-Ming Ho is a Hong Kong-born scholar, editor, poet & translator. She is the editor-in-chief of Cha, the English editor of Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine, a co-editor of Hong Kong Studies, & the translation editor of The Shanghai Literary Review. Her first poetry collection is Hula Hooping (Chameleon), for which she won the Young Artist Award in Literary Arts presented by the HK Arts Development Council. Other books are Her Name Upon the Strand (Delere Press), Too Too Too Too (Math Paper Press), An Extraterrestrial in Hong Kong (Musical Stone), Neo-Victorian Cannibalism (Palgrave). She was a writer-in-residence at the Iowa's International Writing Program in Fall 2023. Her third poetry collection, If I Do Not Reply (Shearsman Books), was published in May 2024.
Eric Yip is a poet from Hong Kong. He won the 2021 National Poetry Competition and was shortlisted for the 2023 Forward Prize for Best Single Poem. His poems have appeared in Best New Poets, The Guardian, Oxford Poetry, and The Poetry Review. His debut pamphlet is Exposure (ignitionpress, 2024).
Michael Tsang is a lecturer of east Asian literature and popular culture at the School of Creative Arts, Culture and Communication in Birkbeck College, London. His writing has been published in Japan Forum, Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, Wasafiri and Sanglap: Journal of Literary and Cultural Inquiry. He is a founding co-editor of Hong Kong Studies (Chinese University of Hong Kong Press), a groundbreaking bilingual academic journal devoted to Hong Kong, and co-editor of Murakami Haruki and Our Years of Pilgrimage (Routledge, 2022). He is also a staff reviewer at Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, where he has built an extensive profile of reviews of Asian literature.
Irisa Kwok grew up in Hong Kong SAR and currently attends Cambridge University. She has a background in playwriting and filmmaking, with recent works performed at the ADC Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe. Her poems have appeared in Catherine Zine, Cambridge Review of Books and The Wicked Ant.

Jennifer Wong is a poet, creative writing teacher and mother. Her latest pamphlet is time difference published by Verve Poetry Press. She has co-edited Where Else: An International Hong Kong Poetry Anthology (Verve, 2023) with Jason EH Lee and Tim Tim Cheng. She is the author of Letters Home (Nine Arches Press) and Identity, Home and Writing Elsewhere (Bloomsbury Academic, 2023).
