Linda Wilhelm bought her first orchid in 1980 after a Florida vacation. One small cattleya seedling that took seven years to bloom. She had no idea it would start a lifelong obsession.
When her husband Rolf caught the orchid bug in 1985, their shared passion became Woodland Orchids, their specialized nursery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Today Linda and Rolf breed warm tolerant Oncidiinae and compact cattleyas. Their work has earned them multiple awards from the American Orchid Society (AOS). Linda also serves as an AOS Accredited Judge and former AOS Trustee.
Linda speaks at orchid societies across the United States as well as internationally. Her engaging, humorous personality makes complex orchid care accessible to everyone from beginners to advanced collectors.
"Catching Orchid Fever" perfectly captures Linda's experience. She understands how one plant multiplies into dozens. Whether you're buying your first orchid or expanding an existing collection, Linda's practical advice will guide you through every stage of orchid fever.
