Gaston Arts Council: Amplify Meetups

This month’s Amplify Meetup invites artists to step into the creative space where words and images meet. Together, we’ll explore how writing and visual art can inform, enhance, and transform one another through hands-on activities designed to spark new ideas. Whether you’re a painter, writer, or maker of any kind, this session encourages you to experiment with creative techniques that blend language and imagery into personal storytelling.

We’ll begin with time to connect over light snacks before diving into blackout poetry - a playful yet powerful approach that encourage self-expression and fresh perspectives. After creating, we’ll come together for a group discussion to reflect on the role of narrative and symbolism in our work, guided by the question: “What stories do you tell through your art?” We’ll close with a look at local resources and opportunities available to support you in your creative journey.
